Starmakers Theatre School opened it’s doors in September 2016 and in just a few years have gone from strength to strength. Starting with just 3 students we have not only grown in numbers but have also seen all of our students grow in confidence and ability. With classes available 5 days a week from as young as 2 years of age there is something for everyone.

Starmakers Theatre School pride themselves on offering classes for all abilities no matter how shy or confident a child is. With small class sizes children can have the one to one attention they require and don’t get lost in big numbers.

We follow the ISTD and Acrobatic Arts Syllabi and also do competitions with the opportunity for the more confident and committed dancer to undertake private lessons and compete as part of the Starmakers Theatre School Competition Team. If competing isn’t for your child we still offer lots of performing opportunities with 2019 seeing some of our students perform in Disneyland Paris and at the Can You Dance Super Convention. If your looking for somewhere for your child to not only learn to dance but also join a caring, supportive group of children that are more like family than just friends then this is the place for you and you will be in time for our first show in April 2020.

PRINCIPAL - CATHERINE PARKER

CATHERINE started dancing at the age of 3 in her local dance school where she trained until the age of 18. Upon completing her time there she went on to further her studies at Preston Dance College, on the Professional Dancers and Teachers of Dance Course. During her time at Preston, Catherine gained numerous awards and qualifications and also studied at the University of Central Lancashire gaining a BA(Hons) in English Literature and a Masters in Education.

Catherine has been fortunate to be awarded a number of performing opportunities performing with QDOS Productions, Pele Productions, in music videos, the BBC Children in Need Concerts, Pantomimes and Elite Productions. Her time at Preston enabled her to gain all of her teaching qualifications in dance and drama as well as providing her with teaching experience at varying levels.

Catherine has taught in numerous schools all over Liverpool, Ormskirk and Lancashire and works with children from as young as 18months old as well as those with disabilities in the academic as well as the private sector.

Catherine is a fully qualified teacher holding the ISTD Diplomas in Dance Education for Ballet, Tap, Modern and Licentiate National, Modern and Tap. She continues to further her own career and is working towards her Fellowship Qualifications with the ISTD in order to become and ISTD examiner. Catherine is an approved Tutor of the ISTD training students for their DDE teaching qualifications and regularly adjudicates competitions and festivals.

Catherine is a big believer in the phrase “Every Child Matters” and if a child wants to learn to dance whether they fit the ‘sterotypical’ dancer or not then our doors are always open to them.
